Law in Hawaii Keeps Elderly Couple in Separate Nursing Homes

Saw this article about the legal system in Hawaii and it has kept apart 95-year-old former Noboru Kawamoto, Elaine, age 88. The couple, married for 67 years have to live separately in different nursing homes as a result of the legal system. It pains me to see this happen, I can imagine being separated from my husband after living together for 67 years. It certainly shows the lack of care and understanding for the elderly and the rigidity of the health and social care system. It’s almost like it has never been considered or forgotten by the system.
